Welcome to the Hickstionary, a landing spot for all things H family.
I'm Heidi. He's Rusty. And together we have our beautiful babe, Beckett and a furry menace, Dakota.
I mostly use this space to brag about how awesome the kid is, whine about how naughty the dog is & share an occasional deep thought.
Thanks for hanging out with us as we figure out this [blessed] life!

Two Weeks
The last two weeks have FLOWN by. It seems like it's gone so fast but at the same time, an entire lifetime has happened and it feels like B has always been here.
At two weeks old, B holds his head up for short periods of time to check people out. He's super alert when he's awake. He LOVES his cuddle time and is the very best little snuggler. He has met SO many people in the last week. He's had his first Thanksgiving and now his first Christmas stocking is hanging on the mantle. He has a million looks to him. Most of the time he looks like Beckett but we also see his daddy in there. He adores his cousin Morgan and she is so good with him. She reads books to him and cuddles him. He has given her more smiles and coos than anyone else (except his mama and daddy!). He's grown SO much. He started at 7lbs 4oz and at his lowest weight was around 6lbs 13.5oz. At his weight check this week, his unofficial (with a dry diaper and onesie on) weight was a whopping 7lbs 13oz!! We'll get his official weight at his two week check tomorrow. And lastly... I hate to even say it because I know you wont believe me until you see it, but the kid has rolled over... three times now! The first time was in his crib and he ended up with his face against the railing. :( The second time was at the Drs office and the Dr witnessed it (so I wasn't the only one to see it! R and the Dr saw it too though we all couldn't believe it!). And then just last night he did it again on the couch. I tried recording it but he was getting mad doing it and I didn't have the heart to keep recording and listen to him fuss.
It's amazing how much life has happened in the last two weeks. We couldn't be more blessed!
Happy Two Week Birthday, Little Guy!!
