Dear Beckett,
You are THREE WEEKS old today! Well yesterday, but we didn't get a post up fast enough. In fact, we barely got a photo taken. At about 10pm, daddy said we needed to get one in. Mama was feeling awfully sick and hadn't made it too far away from the couch all day. We snapped a quick picture and took the first one we got. I imagine there will be more photos of you not posing perfectly and looking at the camera. I'm okay with that.
I do love this picture though because it shows how big you are. Especially compared to that two week picture. Almost everyday this week we commented on how much bigger and older you looked. I imagine you packed on several ounces this week. ;)
You are smiling and cooing so much more. You have a little chuckle that you let out and it gets us all laughing. They say the first real smile is the one that you use your entire face for. You smile with your whole face every time so we thought it would be hard to tell when your first 'real' smile was. Though this week, you smiled after we were talking and laughing with you and it didn't coincide with shortly after a feeding so we think it may have been the real deal. :)
Though you seem to be getting bigger, you're still a skinny thing. With your length, it's hard to find clothes that fit right now. Newborns are too short and 0-3s are too bulky and we worry about them bunching around your face while you sleep. Currently you're sleeping in a one piece thats definitely high waters on you. Don't worry, we didn't take your photo in them.
Your major highlight this week was spending lots of time with grandma. She came to stay for three days while mama went back to work. It was SO nice to have her here and we were all spoiled. You definitely missed her as soon as she was gone (we all did!).
Happy 3 Weeks, little guy! We love you so much!
Welcome to the Hickstionary, a landing spot for all things H family.
I'm Heidi. He's Rusty. And together we have our beautiful babe, Beckett and a furry menace, Dakota.
I mostly use this space to brag about how awesome the kid is, whine about how naughty the dog is & share an occasional deep thought.
Thanks for hanging out with us as we figure out this [blessed] life!
